Starting Over: The Gift That Remains Present

At every turn or twist, there is a blessing lurking around and it is carefully wrapped in the concept of do-overs. According to the dictionary, this is a new attempt or opportunity to do something after a previous attempt has been unsuccessful or unsatisfactory.

The thing about life that counts as the hardest is that it keeps going on and on without looking down on you to give you a break but it remains that we can make fresh slates out of scrap heaps. While we go on with the tides of life, we can make amendments and fresh starts. As often times as we can.

What’s so bad about starting again? Personally, I’ve done this many times and I find it rewarding — it’s somewhat jarring and has you feeling exposed and naked but it wears off. When you start a new job, meet a new friend, get involved with someone romantically or choose a new career path, it’s really your chance to get rid of your shortcomings and master this version of yourself that was once a goal.

Do not get stuck in limbo, do not rid yourself of the grace you deserve, do not stay put regardless. Check what you’re holding on to, check on your happiness and put in a little bit of work to expand the arms of living a true life.

You have complete ownership to your own experiences and you can do whatever you wish with it — this can involve starting again. You can view the past as the process of onboarding and choose to take off now :)

Marienne Williamson says, “it takes courage to endure the sharp pains of self discovery rather than choose to take the dull pain of unconsciousness that would last the rest of our lives.”
